Title: Suspension Caps
Post by: brisdriver on 06 November 2007, 16:11
Hey just got some through the post today from venom motorsports, anyone using them, on the part of their page in golf plus its says easy to fit, but after ringing them to find out how to do it, it seems i have to take the struts completly off etc, and i need the tool to keep the springs compressed etc, not as easy as it first sounded

Any Help, advice or anything greatly appreciated

yeah struts needs to come off and springs needs to be compressed as your replacing the cap that fits on the top of this!! when they say easy i think it means as easy as replacing a spring (which with the correct tools is simple..without a nightmare!)

should be a case of 3 bolts, one on the strut top which also has an allen nut that has to be held and 2 bolts on the lower end and the struts off, then use spring clamps to hold the springs in place and then it reasonably easy, just remember what order stuff comes off in and dont forget to mark the lower bolts or youl need youre tracking doing again.

hope that helps a little :)

A little edit above. Also I think you need the special VW tool for the slotted nut (Or a rubber mallet and screwdriver!)
