Title: Tyres
Post by: Lewism3 on 04 November 2007, 00:00
Just quickly. My Mk3 8v (below) has 205/50/15 tyres but my friends Mk3 16v has 195/50/15. What is the recommended or correct size I should use?

Anybody recommended a good value brand of tyre out there?

195's upto 1994 and 205's after..... I run 195's as they are cheaper on my standard wheels!!
brand wise depends on how much you want to spend..have a look at http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html (http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html) and they have reviews on most tryes too

I was running 205's but changed to 195's cos as above they're cheaper by quite a way. Haven't noticed any difference in performance if anything it handles slightly better.

But that could be down to going from firestones to pirelli P6000 they're great especially in the wet.

Thanks guys

I like the fat look of the 205s, but gotta buy 4, so it could well be 195s on the cards. :undecided:
