Title: VW independent Garage in Northampton Area
Post by: jamesd0015 aka jimgti on 02 November 2007, 12:50
Hi,

Looking to find one above.

I've got the rev restriction of 5,000rpm and the error code of '00515 - Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40)'. The sensor has been replaced but the issue still comes back once the error has been cleared. My local VW Dealer advised I will require a diagnostic test which is £49.99 not including any work or parts required.

Don't fancy paying that much to just find the fault, so was hoping to find a VW independent garage to do the same job cheaper.

Cheers

This is a timing issue.

Get this checked and all will be well. The 0515 hall sender fault appears because the car thinks its faulty, but really the ECU can't cope with mis matched timing. Will also cure the lack of revs.

All sorted mate and yes it was a timing issue. Went to Stelth racing in the end. Great place, very helpful.
