Title: Wired…..Anyone else had this hitch before??
Post by: CraigDavid on 01 November 2007, 23:00
Had my Golf mk3 GTi 16v for about a year now and every time I’ve ever filled up with a full tank the fuel gage moves promptly to the full tank position!!

Just put a full tank in again tonight as usual BUT when I started to drive off I noticed the gage hadn’t move at all!!

After about 10-15miles the gage started to move leisurely up rather than instantly!!

This happened to anyone else before????

never had that before on a golf... had it in a calibra that i had once... fuel gauge in that was very unreliable... use to wave about all over the place...

Can't say mine's instant, but it doesn't take 10 - 15 minutes.. Could it've been some sort of air lock?

Mine hasn't done it for ages.

At least it's not like my mums's horrible Kia takes an age for the needle to move by the time it get's to full it's done 1/4 of a tank!!!
