Hi Guys,

New to this forum, just got a MK3 GTi today :-)

discovered that reverse is noisy...  all other gears seem fine, actually the box feels rather good.  she's done 109000 have I bought a lemon? :-(

109 isnt too bad, just as long as she has been looked after and been serviced shouldnt be a problem.

welcome, reverse seems to screw up on mk3s alot, im sure therel be a thread in the mk3 section,  :wink: 16v or 8v

my mk3 makes a noise when in reverse too, try changing the gear box oil

oh yeah mines not noisy!! and new (synthetic) oil should help yours no end!
