Title: bright blue (dont know its real name but should really) gti 8v 3 door
Post by: jettagolf on 30 October 2007, 22:27
i sold one of these 7 years ago with 84000 miles minted, fsh, etc. really lovely car the best gti i have ever had and i have had 7. anyway its now up for sale again with 88000 miles on the clock its just as mint as the day i sold it, same tyres different wheels, just as tight. some of the mot's only have 20 miles between them solid underneath no rust at all anywhere the drivers seat feels like it is new and the doors open perfect, something i noticed out of every gti i owned after it the doors didnt open the same. i have had about 30 cars in total 99% have been vw and 85% of them have been mk2 and i know this is the best out there. i would give my left testicle to own it again but i have just started my own business in the last year and funds are tight(non existant) so i am just wondering what price would you guys put on a car like this if you were in this position, i know they command a strong price but i dont want to pay a silly price for it.
any help would be great thanks

its every bit as good and should be able to scrape that together but any more  i dont think i could get would you think it would be cheeky if they asked more than that, i heard somewhere that someone paid 6.5 grand for a mint red one and that has me worried

it's that old "only worth what someone is prepared to pay" thing. if they are selling it, they must have an idea what they want for it?

thats the problem they know what its worth and they know what people have paid for worse, i would happily hand over 10 grand for the car if i had it just to get it back, i just wanted to try and get a realistic price for it cos the price for the mk2 gti varies that much i would say 2.5 is about right but wondered if anyone else on here has paid more than that for a standard one. its a real pain that it has come up at this time of my life
