Is it true that the later Golf vr6's have more power. The early ones have 174bhp, what do the late models have?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I could not find anything.

the highline had 174bhp too....so no difference according to the vw brochure

Apparently the OBD2 models have an extra 10bhp...allegedly..

I'm only aware that the Corrado VR6's were 190bhp and Golf VR6's 176bhp.

i am using the vw book i have stickied which states the vr6 highline has 174bhp...the corrado was 2.9litres too hence extra poke

The vr6 owners club has proven that there is no differance between OBD1 & 2 on verious rolling road days. Ive driven both obd 1 and 2 as my brother had a later vr at the same time as me and i could not really tell any differance...
