what the part number is for the leather gear lever gaitor on the Mk2 GTI?
I would check a Haynes manual, but I don't have one to hand.
I rang the local VW dealership but they didn't know which one it was.
Cheers

Richbrook do them for about ?20 including the alloy surround.

Thanks, but I'm just wanting a straight, original VW replacement.
Hence the need for the VW part number, so I can get the correct part from VW.

;D Dont mind looking for it, can anyone give me a clue on where to look for it ???

the closest i can get is the plastic bit it is attached to with the coin holders. this is 191 863 216. the leather gaiter should have a white vw/audi stamp on the inside withe the part number there. hi lisa by the way!

I would of thought that they were all pretty much standard fit!
Did you give them the year of the car?
You can get a leather gaiter from pretty much anywhere. Dowt anyone would know the difference.
The original gaiter on my 1990 golf wasn't even leather, it was just leather look.

Well, I've taken it off and had a look on the inside, but I couldn't see a part number.
I suspect it's probably not real leather anyway, but it'd be nice to keep it to original VW parts.
It's a 89 G reg small bumper 16v.
And hello Lisa, welcome.

you mean the all in one leather gaitor & gearknob?
you can just about make it out on mine Here (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=22&pos=2) :P its a VW motorsport item, it defo wont be listed in the Haynes.
