Post by: VeeDubGTI16v on 30 October 2007, 17:46
anyone had a problem with the heater where speeds 1 and 2 dont work but 3 does? could be the switch maybe?

It can be the switch but normally it's the motor itself which is hidden up in the dash on the passenger side.

Should imagine if you have lost 2 of the speeds and not the 3rd the resistor is faulty, not really 2 sure where it is on a mk2 heating system though so if someone can tell me as well we can both learn something!

Common failure boss - its the little resistor behind the fasica.

pull the fascia, slide the block up from behind where the knob goes.. pull tif orm the wire, refitting is a reversal of rmeoval.. fixed 3 so far this way
