Title: Time for a new exhaust
Post by: Chris_Mk3GTI on 30 October 2007, 13:50
So driving back from Aberdeen this morning i noticed the car making a much louder noise than normal on loser inpection i discovered a hole just before the back box. I think its probably time to upgrade and change the entire exhaust system  for a nice shiny new stainless steel job  Can any of you guys recommend any particular brand. I'll be focused more on power gain than boy racer noise and be looking to spend at most £300. Oh any my gti is an 8v.

Cheers

-Chris

Kwik fit do the Janspeed for that car fully fitted just over £300
Powerflow etc will make one to fit for about £200-£250
I have Remus thats about £350 for the system!!!!

Mongoose are top of the tree for me....although the one i won on ebay was for a mk 4 so thats going on my mk 4

im now in the market for one for my mk 3, mongoose i think it will be and second on my list is a magnex or maybe a scorpion.

powerflow in leeds say it would be 320 cash for a cat back system fitted...thats for a mk 3 8v...
i spoke to them the other day about my mk 4 mongoose back box i need fitting so asked them about their mk 3 systems..

Magnex is your best bet for a non boy racer sound, they're pretty quiet. twin 3" backbox look the best on a mk3
