Post by: phill570 on 29 October 2007, 19:04
Can anyone tell me if a set of 17" 5 stud alloy wheels from a MK4 GTI will fit my MK3? They are on a set of 225/45/17 tyres!!! Cheers Phill

I have 215/45/17 on mine and they failed the mot due to the rears hitting the struts on bad bumps and the fronts fouling the body on 3/4 lock.
The wheels will fit but as bradley said, you will need 205/40's

Or 10mm spacers! But then you'll probably get fouling on the wings!

tyres should be 205/40 but 205/45 go but mess up the speedo slightly!!!! and they rub with standard suspension with 2 adults in the rear!!!!!!
