Title: Rear brakes
Post by: DubDave on 29 October 2007, 17:11
Just some advise one and all,

my mot is not due for a few months yet but i know the rear brakes are guaranteed to fail, so what i want to do is upgrade them now, to get it out of the way.

So really, what is the best option for this? Think i remember reading about mk4 calipers fitting, but not sure if that was the front ones, so any advice greatful!!

if going MK3 make sure you get the LATE spec ones with the internal handbrake mech. Early Mk3 are the same sh|t as our "grippy" mk2 ones.

Have a search loads on it!

Mk4 Golf rear callipers, same as late mk3 but alloy... maybe the same as bora and A3. then get the adapter flexi braided hose here.

Mk2 Golf Mk4 rear conversion 2 Line Kit BR-HO-GOOD-5062P £29

can do the upgrade for around £100 if your handy with a spanner
