Title: GTI Cylinder Head Probs
Post by: mpgscott on 10 March 2004, 21:46
Since changing the cylinder head gasket on my 1990 8v Gti I have been getting some probs.

All was well bar the oil temp was high at 94-98 degrees, but golfvr6 has told me that this is ok.

The car is running really rough throughout the rev range ie 1000 upto 2500, now I have checked the timing and it is at 5 degrees before TDC which I think is correct.

Could it be a dodgy sensor or something anyone any ideas.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Also the car is a pain to start, thought it was the starter, but am now thinking its the alarm/immobiliser as after I reset it by removing the negative from the batt it seems to turn ok????
