Title: Service Interval 1.9Tdi
Post by: Cobb on 27 October 2007, 13:18
Hello
Just bought a 2003 100Bhp TDI.
It's on 85,000 miles.
It was serviced in April this year.
It has done 10,000 miles since then.
The service light is now on, is this right? Seems like a bit of a short time to me.

The bloke said VW changed the service interval as he was doing so many miles.

Cheers

Has the vehicle been changed to variable/longlife servicing?

10K is the fixed service interval but the 10K is pretty much just oil and filter

you can have it changed back to variable but you'll have to get them to do it.

It has been changed, but not sure from what to what (if that makes sense)!

I'm going to be doing about 10,000 miles a year. What service interval to I want for that?

How much is oil/filter service?

Cheers

If your only doing 10K a year I would have it on fixed servicing.

i think VW charge anywhere upto £200 for a 10K service, expect to pay about £100 at a local garage.

filter is about £6 and oil (PD oil) is about £40 if you want to do it yourself

VW wanted £110 to change the oil and filter when i had mine done; got a local to do it plus all other filters for £55

Have only used VW for my 20K service and replacement of passenger regulator clips; used a local garage for 10K services and other bits and bobs
