ok as a follow on from my car not starting and then fiding the plugs are bone dry after trying to start the car. ive checked the fuel pump by taking off the incoming fuel line at the fuel rail. when the ignition is turned on fuel pumps through for a couple of seconds and then stops, i was wondering if this is normal or should there be a continuous flow?
also any suggestions as to why fuel os not reaching the cylinders even though there is obviously some amount of fuel pumping in?
thanks. bunter

anyone?
-
surely someone knows this?

when i turn my key for the first time u can hear the fuel pump for a few secs then the noise stops...
-
yeah same on mine, i guess fuel is pumped in for the engine to start with then. think il try another ecu if i can get hold of one :)

have you looked at the ignition switch ??
-
The burst of fuel and the sound from the fuel pump will be the pump initially priming itself to get fuel to the rail ready for launch :)
-
Have you checked the Fuel Injection Relay?
-
heck the power feed to the injectors with a multimeter first
-
i have replaced the fuel pump relay with a brand new one a few months ago as i thought it might be the problem but to no avail :(
il have a go at testing the feed to the injectors at the weekend, thanks.
also thinking of grabbing myself a second hand ecu and trying that aswell :)
thanks. bunter

Pull off an injector and see if fuel is coming through. If pump is running, possibly fuel filter blocked or crap in the fuel tank blocking up suction pipe - just some thoughts

thanks. will grab a fuel filter this weekend as i dont think its ever been changed :)
