Title: GT TDi 130 buying advice
Post by: eean on 24 October 2007, 21:51
Hi guys,

Im looking to buy a MK4 GT TDi 130, and have found a local one which sounds very good; 2001 51 reg, met black, FSH, factory fitted santa monica alloys and lowered suspension, etc. My only worry is the high mileage: 139,000.

Im planning on going to have a look this week at some point, is there anything I should look for in particular? Is that mileage anything to worry about? The owner said its all motorway miles, and very little town driving. Currently priced at £4495.

price sounds little high for the mileage, but may have loads of options.

23K a year is a little high but not unheard of for a derv, that sort of mileage could only really been done on the motorway too.

check the service history as the cam belt should have been done last @ 120k, air filter too @ 120K

good luck!

Thanks for the tips. The price did seem a bit high, I was thinking of trying my luck and knocking him down to £4000 :) Which sounds a bit better.
