Title: Problems picking up 909 on radio,

Hi folks,

I own a 2005 MK 5 GTI.  Bought it yesterday and love it.  Problem is my AM reception on the radio is terrible.  Five Live is a no no.

Does anyone else have this problem?

its due to the wave length! fm is a shorter wave so is boosted more. Also the weather can effect it too, also time of day and ionosphere! cant pick it up very well in the bora! guess its just transmitter placement!  :nerd:

Had it looked at this morning by a vw engineer.  He says what probably has happened is that water has leaked into the small base of the aerial which holds a booster.  He has ordered a new one and says it should sort it.

i had this problem once on my old calibra.... HT leads had broken down internally

if the problem continues after your current fix the check them
