I need a car to run for 6 months a year while the weather is too wet for my bike and am interested in a mk1 cab, is it possible to pick one up for £1000 ish ? and would i be looking at a gti ?
looking in the north east area

no problem at all!
they all have their problems though.. so ideally the more you pay you could be getting a better car.. although i paid £850 for mine with plenty of test. And it passed no probs last month (except an exhaust hangar that had been cut off the exhaust (aftermarket stainless) which i was aware of)
Just remember they are old cars now... and not always 100% reliable.. we're ALL had our issues, but mine has been fine since July :)

Really shouldnt have said that Han, you know whats going to happen on your way home tonight :D

its ok.. lewy lives nearby! haha!
nah there is no reason for it go wrong. iot's been sweet as a nut and i'm not driving it half as much as i used to since i moved house so the cab is appreciating that! :) it only goes out for leisurely drives :)

in that case there wouldnt be 3 for sale on the first 2 pages of the for sale section. its the wrong time of year to sell which means its a great time of year to buy

thats dependant on the car. there getting old now and some are in better condition than others. there not as fast as a tintop because of the extra chassis strength/weight. ive not driven mine to its limits but its quick off the mark and turns on a sixpence and is extrememly fun to drive. it will never be the fastest car on the strip but it will imo look the best
