Hi, looking to fit G60 arches to an 8v GTI. I know there are other ways to fit them, but I would like to know if the G60 wings are a straight swap for the wings on an 8v, because the G60 arches would obviously already be attached to the wings. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Two options
Drill some holes and secure
Or Glue them on
OEM G60 Arches are secured via screws and bolts on the under wing.
Choices is yours Glue or drill?

OEM g60 arches actually have a square clip which clips into a square hole on the wing, then the rest of the holes are pop-rivetted on, just like a regular gti arch. the wings fit the car as standard wings do.

I think you will find it difficult to find wings from a G60 with the arches on. I doubt many get broken.

I just broke off the clips (which you'll have to do regardless) and used the 4 rivet holes, no glue and they hold on fine.
-
Can you still buy G60 wings new?
-
yes you can and the part numbers are :-191821021E & 191821022E (i think!)
-
Yeah you can, I bought mine only a few weeks ago. VW dealers are the best price for em too surprisingly!
-
are the g60 wings wider than a normal gti wing then.
-
how much from the dealer?

These are standard wings...
G60 ones end with a D - Etka only list 022D - But I've just had an email from BBT or now VW heritage Watercooled saying that the 021D has just been re-made by VW Classic parts in Germany....

167.20 Euro - OUCH!!
Wings not much use without the arches...IMO

Are all arches obsolete now ?? Maybe vw could start making them

vw better start making them!
