Lay Flat Single Wiper front conversions.....What do yall think of them?
-
look alot better (when done correctly!) than the standard position
-
makes the back end look more beefy than the old gay position. plus you know who is an enthusiast when u drive past other mk2 owners ;)
-
Single front wipers look ok, but in terms of practicality, not so clever because they have to wipe the same area as two wipers normally do and will miss out wiping the high spot that is in the driver's line of sight.
-
Ive herd you can fit mercedes wipes to correct that? ^
Merc wipers are bigger
-
Hmmm im giving serious consideration to shaving the wiper off the back, But i might just do the lay flat conversion. I dnno tho.
-
fielder you should already have the conversion!
takes two seconds and cost nothing!
-
some confoooosion here! Fielder starts talking about front single wipers then it goes into the rear wiper!
the rear wiper you can lay flat in about 2 minutes by removing the trim panel inside the boot and rotating the arm around.
front single wipers - i have one on my mk2 and like the much tidier look it gives. it does cover the whole screen very well and it has done all winter in rain and snow. the only problem is that it lifts off the screen slightly right in the middle of the screen. a new blade sorts it for a few weeks then the arm slowly bends it out of shape.

if you have a pre '88 mk2 you'll be use to having the top bit not wiped ;D
