what do you mean the abs light bulb?? as if this dosent work it normally means it's being disconnected/removed
-
the bulb has blown m8
-
Not heard of a bulb blowing before dude, what's more common is that when the ABS develops a problem, people disconnect the light to stop it illuminating... it is obviously an MoT failure.
I hope for your sake it's just the bulb mate.
-
my ABS light went 2 months ago. I went to stevens dismantlers where theyve got sh!t loads abs light unit for 10 quid. To check if it is the bulb take the unit out and if the bulb is silver/black, then its gone.
-
I stand corrected then, hope it's just the bulb
-
Thays ok. Thats how I learnt about it.

Any small 12V light bulb will do really. Mine's got one from a fruit machine in it  Since some nice man removed it in the past.
-
just picked 2 12v bulbs up c if they work
-
Looks a nice car mate, always liked them in dragon green. Best to get rid of the TDI back box and put a decent exhaust on it.
-
does any1 know what the prob is if the abs light comes on intermitently, a smine comes on sometimes after start up stays on then others it dont it is pissin me off

Got VAG COM?
-
adrenaline I would say you have a sticky caliper!! mine did this sometimes until i cleaned the calipers and now it stays off......
-
Could well be a sticky caliper, quite common on mk3s. Mine was completely seized though and had to fork out for a refurb one at about £75! More likely to just be a rear sensor though, VAG COM diagnostic scan is the easiest way to sort it as the fault codes will need clearing once the fault is found and fixed. If you have a multimeter then you can find the problem easy
