depends if you want primary colours. halfords.
If you want an odd colour you can mix Hammerite!
-
DONT buy the £20+ kits.. All you need is some red engine laquer, i did mine last week bought it from Motorworld for less than a fiver!
-
mines painted with the tin af aero left over from my last golf.... lasts ok if you ensure they are clean before applying
-
i agree just get the red engine laquer costs about fiver
-
I was thinking of doing this to mine, do you need to take the caliper apart to paint or can you do it just by removing the wheel and painting while on the car?
-
All i did was remove the wheel, then give it a good brushing with a wire brush to remove all loose crap then cleaned it with some thinners, when its dried give a good coating of engine laquer.
TIP: let it drive over night before driving!

Thankyou all for the advice, i will use the engine laquer i think. They are looking a bit tatty now on my anniversary and i am planning to sell it next month and wanted it tidied up a bit, great advice from you all thankyou.

forget everything and use hammerite.
its by far the best and longest lasting
you can get it in all colours
did mine in blue on my other car years ago, still look new
and more recently did my golf ones black..
and all the rusty bits on the brake discs on the inside :)

I believe hammerite is best. I have mixed a gold as near as [ossible to the colour of my wheels.
Not stripping the caliper is the lazy mans way! But its what I did! Whats the point of cleaning, scrapping, grinding, sanding and then painting bits ya cant see!
I used a file to take off some of the casting ridges on the caliper, (after cleaning) then emery paper.
