Title: VDO guage holder?
Post by: starsky on 08 March 2004, 10:45
I have been thinking of getting some additional guages for my mk2 gti. Where do they fit?
I have seen holders for sale that go in the stereo slot in the top of the dashboard but i dont want to remove the stereo.

Are there any guage holders that fit in the centre console like the Mk1 golf?

thanks veedubgti8v, goodbye ashtray, hello guages. What they like to fit? im quite competant so not scared to have a go.

What guages do you have/recommend? ebay seems to be a good source for them or do you know of any other places that are cheap to buy?

get some from an audi 80 or similar. they go for about 30 quid for the 3 guages oil temp, pressure and voltage. check with them before you buy what colour the back light is cos i think they come in red, green and clear filters

yeah its an awesome on, it comes with instructions its not hard if you got a dremel or such like, but yeah you cut it away so you are left with a rectangular hole
