Title: Used Edition 30 search
Post by: noj66 on 15 October 2007, 19:44
After many years of VW ownership i bought an Audi S3,which has been a great car. However the time has come to part with it and the search is on for a well specced ED30 at a good price. Its driving me crazy!I suppose i'm being unrealistic looking for all the bells and whistles at a bargain price but there just seems to be so few on the market.I've got 'til Thursday before the Audi goes so if you know of any deals to be done, give me a shout.
On the subject of specification, does anyone know of a foolproof way of retro fitting the nav unit, including the 'shark fin' antenna?

Why you selling mate. Need to keep all the ED30s in Scotland where the petrol is cheap and the roads are amazing ?

Why?

Don't you like the DSG?

Have you test driven one and written it off as an option?

Drove 2 standard GTI's back to back and just prefered the manual.  Just felt the was more exciting to drive with the stick and clutch.

Cheers Phope,i'd spotted that on the Volkswagen website. It's looking a distinct possibility, although i would prefer DSG having owned a white 5 door. There's a 3 door DSG with xenons on ebay at same money.Thats why i'm curious about retro fitting the nav unit, they just look so much better.

Even if someone offered me what I have paid for mine so far I wouldn't be tempted to sell

Heritage Volkswagen in Westbury ,Wiltshire have a 57 plate GTI ED 30 ,3dr in Reflex Silver . EX demonstrator.
I have seen it up there, excellent condition, they want £21995, reduced from £22495. first time I have seen ED30 discounted on fore court. Doesnt say spec, guessing it is fairly standard.

It is a small dealer and only had a tiny allocation of GTI/ED30 build slots for the year, so surprised to see one discounted as I know they are sort after new/second hand.

Maybe an excellent buy?

mmm, interesting....

Any idea what they'd take? (given you know what they paid etc). Could be tempted, as they very rarely seem to be spec'd with xenons (a must for me).

What's the full-spec? Any hi-res pics? Cheers

(ps. how does the ipod prep work?)

Found one!Taking deposit in the morning for a 3-door DSG Edition 30 in grey with xenons and a few other bits on an 07 for £21500. Hoping to find a reputable auto electrician to fit an ebay sourced DVD Sat Nav for me.Hopefully with the new style aerial so it looks 'right'.I'd like to fit 19" alloys, one of the BBS's,CH or Le Mans(big bucks!).There's replicas about but always a bit unsure of the quality.
