I have asked this question before on another forum and the answer was, its a different size and if you have a sunroof then you would need to relocate the sunroof switch.  A lot of hard work for a little difference

I know how you feel, but its depending on what you want it for, if its for the dim lighting, there is probably a retro way of doing it, im just trying to figure out what and how

think it would be possible to replace the passenger map reading light with an LED and then link that to the headlight switch and control it with the dash light dimmer?

I was thinking of more drilling two holes and putting LED's in there and wiring them to the sunroof switch so they only go on when you put the lights on also you can dim it

create a subtle colour wash at night.... mk4 boys seem to like it and is on audi w8... chavness factor is debateable granted :undecided: but I think done properly this could be avoided

I mean to wire it up to the sunroof led, which comes on when you switch on your lights

think he means the led in the sunroof switch that glows up green when ignition is on, has a little pic of sunroof sort of thing.. mine has this and lights up, 93 8v (mine has the toggle switch for the sunroof operation not the crappy press button one)

amazing the things you never even notice... never even seen that light up before... it's very subtle!

hmmm... something to think about?!

yeah i reacon u could solder to that led for a live feed, if u pull the toggle switch (if u have this and not the press button one) it will come off and the green led is their to see...
but i guess it would be easier to solder from behind and drill two small holes in the light surround, then mount the leds their

seems like a preety easy job to me.

will be leaving mine standard tho

To be honest with you I didnt notice mine even had red LED's until a few months ago - you can hardly see em. it would be great if they made the inside glow a soft red tho
