Title: coolant flush??
Post by: marty_t3 on 07 March 2004, 00:25
Any hints and tips on flushing the coolant on 1.6 CL? Are they prone to air locks? Any pipes i should remove and clean out (other than the obvious)? Best place to drain from?

Right, disconnect the lower radiator hose to drain the rad, then undo the thermostat housing (this is on the end of the lower rad hose, follow it along and you will find it!) this will drain the block. do them all back up again. put the heater controls inside the car to maximum heat, then refill the coolant system via the expansion tank, run the engine till the fan comes on once then check the level and top it up as necessary!
