Title: Mk2 GTI seats into a Mk1

Hi all can this be done

Im sure the front seats are direct fitment
anyone ever changed the rear bench for a mk2 one?

also is the parcel shelf on a mk2 attached to the rear bench liek it is on a mk1?

fronts fit but rear bench does not, can be modified with brakets!  :smiley:

na i was lazy! lol never fitted the bench right! i dont have people in the back, you need to make the brackets! a guy on e38 said he would make me some but i never bothered as i am after recaro's and might dump the rear bench altogether

doesnt the scirocco rear bench fit??  might be worth asking on a scirocco site as i cant remember if it goes into mark 1 or mark 2 golf.  might work out cheaper to re-cover or could try www.retrovw.co.uk or similar vw breakers.

mk2 seats arnt a direct swap cos the forward/back leaver is on the wrong side, you can swap it over with a bit o welding or some clever mounting, or just put up with having to pull the pin across with your finger!
