I ordered my K&N 57i kit... BUT
It said in the shop "for use with Golf mk3 GTi 8v (MAS)"
as opposed to the 91-94 Golf with the Air Flow Meter... So I chose the MAS one (as I use the Hitachi MAS on my 97 Golf)
BUT... I read K&N's website and it states (as well as Demon Tweeks)
NOT FOR USE WITH HITACHI MAS!!!! ... WHAT OTHER MAS's did VW use on the Golf?????
Which Kit DO I NEED??? ... HELP there was only 2 to choose from!
Part Number is - 57-0099
1997 VOLKSWAGEN Golf III 2.0L L4 F/I GTI 8v w/MAS,exc.Hitachi MAS (not available in the USA)
Only other ones are the 16v version and the Air Flow Meter one...
HELP ME!!!

Odd, who supplied you with the kit? Can they not help you?
-
I dont even have the kit yet, and it was *cough* Halfords *cough* ... i live in the hills ok, no other places near here.. no performance centres!
Ive found a new K&N tho:
Engine: 2.0 GTi 8v - Hitachi MAS 115bhp
Year: Jan 94-Nov 97
Part Number: 57-0437
Ive requested this to be ordered, but its not on their system ...
Will have to wait until Monday till I can find out i they can get it...

Something like that it shouldn't make any difference where you purchase it from..........apart from price..........its the same product.
-
just go bug halfords to sort it out. I did that and got ?60 leads for ?40 cos the ones I had before were faulty and they'd been discontinued.
-
i could say something about mk3 8v's but i wont. maybe later tho!

Online its ?83.45 + P&P @ ?7-10 ... all estimates.
