Hi
Was doing some work on my 8v GTI today trying to get the head gasket sorted because ive got a major yogurt problem and white smoke out of the exhaust. Anyways, I was dismantling the engine and I took the top cover of the engine (cam cover?) to expose the cam-shaft and discovered that the U shapped gasket under this cover was fried. Does anybody know what this gasket is called so I can get a replacement one?
Cheers
Lee

Alright lads, whent down to the very helpfull GSF in swindon today, and it was called the Rocker cover gasket set and cost me a tidy £3.95
Got it fitted now and all looks well, the most difficult part was ensuring that the rocker cover didnt bite on the gasket, its hard to make sure its all tucked under nicely.
Cheers for your help lads
