Title: mk1 brake upgrades
Post by: Judderi on 05 October 2007, 13:24
Ive got a 9" servo and 22.2mm master cylinder kicking about. Can i use these on my mk1 cab to improve the brakes? Is it a straight swap?

yes mate would make a difference as the master cylinder in a mk1 is smaller than the 22.2mm one you have, get it on you may have to cut the thread down and use the u shaped connector from the removed master cylinder.

take a look here (http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=13901) mate explains the clevis pin bit with a few pics.

apart from that you may need to add t pieces if you m/c doesn't have enough outlets, mine was a direct swap just needed the pipes bending into new positions.
