how much should it cost for a new clutch, mines started to slip now and then :( 8v 97 2l GTI agg
-
estimate £100 - £150
-
thats not bad, what else needs to be changed when doing a clutch
-
need to remove the engine and replace with a 1.8T!!! or at least thats what ill tell the other half whern mine goes!!!!!
Should just be a simple clutch change!!
-
If you can get this done for £100-150 that is cheap.... A good quality clutch is around £80-100.. I would say more like £200-250 (thats what i paid a couple of years ago on my old gti). and it can be wise to replace the cable as the self adjusters are useless after a few years

Im gettin my gear box reconditioned and a new clutch fitted and its gona cost 350quid, as the guy i use is a family friend!
-

I paid £100 labour to have a replacement gearbox, clutch and clutch cable fitted to my brother's mk3 a few months ago. Normal going rate around here is about £75 labour for a clutch.
-
mine cost me over £400!!!!!!!!!
the cable alone was over £50!!!!!!!!!
-
estimate £100 - £150
my brother is a mechanic and hence why my price might be cheaper than a run of the mill garage
-
got it done today, clutch kit + clutch cable £82 + £200 for labour + front right bearing
its really soft now, feels weird
