Has anyone retro-fitted surround area lighting on their Golf?

How does it work?

What does it do?

Any pics anyone of it in action?

I have the "puddle lighting" that points down from the underside of the door Mirrors when you get out, but is this something else?

Look at the pic below and you can just make out the light shining against the door by the door mirror.

Thats the one. Just wondering if you can retro fit.
It would probably be easier getting some Touran reflectors that light up like on the MKiv.

I would have thought that the wiring loom would still be there even if the functionality isn't. It maybe a case of changing the lower light section in the original housing and then simply finding the right connection on the loom. After that VAG-COM would activate the loom. :undecided:

That is the obvious way - although VW usually work in mysterious ways :laugh:
