got set of bbs ra's on car now going for 100% standard mk2 gti...just red trim grill to go on now....and job done..although its down 40mm and staying that way...best handling mk2 ive had for some reason :undecided:...not to hard not to soft and not to low...just perfect and even better on standard rims and tyres....(although have set of tele dials to go on for show pic's at later date)
updated pics taken in glasgow...

Looks pukka mate
-
Just needs a tow bar and a roof rack.
Seriously..... GREAT looking car, wonder if mine could ever look that good?
-
handles good because 40mm drop on mk2's is the best thing you can do to it any lower and it makes the handling worse

I think your the 2nd person in the whole of Glasgow to have a MK2 - me being 1st  Quick question - don't suppose you know any scrappies with any MK2's in them around Glasgow?
-
OE is the way to go these days I reckon! That's my plan, but like you a little lowering just to aid the handling.

Looks so right this car, only thing I might try and do is put some spacers on the rear wheels

OE IS the way forward!

Lovely car. Hope you are going to keep it. And now to hi-jack the thread.(Sorry)
Talking of OE versus pattern, how well do GSF front and rear bumpers fit? I bought a pattern front big bumper (not a GSF one) for my last 8v and the fit was disgusting. :undecided: Had to raise it with the aid of spacers and splitpin the bottom fairing lugs in the wheel arches to make it look half right. :lipsrsealed:
Also the same question for wheel arches and external plastic door trims.

I bought a set about 7 years ago so may not be relevant now but I found the front one OK but the rear one was aweful. The top (textured) section where it meets the panel below the boot was all wavey and as the car was red it showed up really bad. Stupidly I had them painted before I fitted them so when I noticed this I was unable to take it back.
