Hello All
This is my first post so by gentle. Ive just bought a mk4 golf tdi130 with 18 rs4s already fitted but like a lot of people have said, it looks like a 4x4 lol.
I would like some advise, and pictures if possible, of which are the best springs to buy and what drop will be the best. tyres i think are 225 40 18s
Thanks in advance
Bruce

Welcome to the club, mate.
What's your budget, then??
-
Wouldn't mind some advice on this too! Don't really have a budget, just don't want to spend the earth!
-
get some coilovers thats what i did
-
budget for the springs would be about 200 squid fitted. got a quote for eibach pro kit (-30mm) fitted for 189 but i think 30mm would not be enough.
i would love adjustables but they cost a tad bit more than springs lol(http://)
-
Get the -30's & the Eibach rear ARB. Would be better than coilovers on their own & won't loosen your fillings, LOL!!!
Obviously, coilovers & the rear ARB would be the ultimate, but it depends how hardcore you want (& the size of your wallet, of course).
You going to do any trackdays or anything??
-
Mine's lowered 30mm on Eibach springs and all in all for springs and fitting I paid about £170!
-
No not planning on doing any track days, its used daily as a family car lol my son has to travel in some style
with me being new i assume ARB is anti roll bar?? i've heard koni do -40mm springs but would i then need shortened dampers which would sacrifice the comfyISH ride?
-
Yes, sorry, ARB = Anti-roll bar.
My car has the Eibach -30's on OE shocks. It's not perfect, but the car now handles 10 x better than it did standard. It corners much better, but the ride is not compromised at all!
-
ps Paid £110 for mine off the bay!!
-
hey Ivor, did u fit em urself?
-
Ivor, i noticed on another post that the picture of you golf on the posts is before it was lowered, is that right? if so do you have any new pics of it with the -30mm springs on. would appreciate a look. thanks for the advice too.
cheers

Yes, with a bit of help from a mate. The fronts were a b*tch but the rears only took 5-10 mins between them!!!
