Fraid not mate.. I've had 4 Mk5's just inthe past 18 months plus about 20 Mk1s, Mk2's and Mk3's over the past 3 years plus a Lupo GTI for my wife at £8500... I'll add up everything and see how much...

Well you can't take it with you.
Whats your favourite GTI illyun Mki, Mkii 8v or 16v?
Crikey I thought I was bad for changing cars, if you don't mind me asking but why do you have so many in 1 year? Big family?Nope, just me, wife and toddler..... I just get bored easily and I went through a phase where I was constantly looking for better condition and lower mileage Mk1's and Mk2's... My wife persuaded me to buy the Mk5 GTI in 2006 when I really had no intention of buying until 2007 - glad I listened to her though  I tried the R32 for 4 months before the Ed30 just to see what it was like. Had to sell the Ed30 due to unplanned and unforseen house purchase and investment.... etc... But I am happy with what I have now and 2008 -2010 will be very quiet years on the car buying front. If my finances are really good then I might buy a 2nd hand Mk5 DSG R32, drive it for 6 months and then sell it... I also harbour fantasies about buying a Porsche 911, driving it for a year and selling it at about the same price I paid for it... ditto Ferarri F355.... but I am planning on being in Jordan for long periods of time from Dec08 or Feb09 probably 8 months a year, coming back for the summers for 5-10 years - my wife and daughter are there already... So the Ed30 will probably get 30-35k miles put on it in the next 16-18 months and then be garaged away for quite a while. Its probably the last Golf GTI I will buy for a long long time if ever again. Unless the Mk6/7 GTI is something really special and radical - even more so than the Mk5 - which I somehow doubt will happen.
try listing all those cars with both purchase price and sale proceeds. To work out the total loss !! (or profit maybe

Hard to beat a 5-6 year old 911 for residuals. I'll be selling mine in the next week or two, if you're interested PM me. 2001/51 Facelift 3.6 Carrera 2, 41,500mls, FPSH, Xenons, M030, ext. warranty, yadda yadda, £32500.
