I'm looking to get some lowering springs for my gti.
At the moment I have a standard ride height (40mm drop?) and 14" campaign alloys.
I want to lower the car but my front splitter scrapes slightly when coming out of my drive already.
would a 60 on the back and 40 on the front be a good idea?
can you get diffrent springs for the front and back?

Different height springs...no nopt really. Although you can get lowering top mounts for the front.
However you best bet would be coilovers, then you can set the ride height front to back how you like.
for handling it's better to have the back 10-20mm higher than the back.

Weitec do a 60/40mm kit, however it's the opposite to what you want. :tongue: 60mm front, 40mm rear.

Is that the back higher than the front?
I don't think I can stretch to coilovers I don't want to get bad quality ones.
My front looks lower than the rear already
maybe the current setup is knacked.
would a 40/40 eibach setup be good?
is that the same height as standard, but stiffer?

Yes, Back 10-20mm higher improves turn in.
Forgot about the Weitek Kit!
Eibach are superb springs, and depending if it's a 8v or 16v and which kit you get (there are two) will drop it about 20 to 40 mm.
