Title: Removing the ISV from my valver
Post by: monzablue16v on 22 September 2007, 21:46
Hi guys.
Car is playing up again, It's been fine for about 2000 miles but recently it won't idle when cold, revs randomly rise to 2k - 3k and won't come back down unless I unplug the ISV, it surges and stalls out. If I get out and reset the idle to 950 when warm it magically runs fine then won't idle when I restart cold.
Today I changed the ISV, ISV control box, ECU, Ignition amplifier. Thought that might cure it but no it still plays silly buggers. I've been running it with the ISV unplugged for a couple of days and it was fine bit of a pain when cold but nothing major.

So has anyone removed theirs as I've had enough of the black magic of the ISV and want a standard it idles at this RPM and it stays there. :)

Mine was doing the very same as what your describing and it was the temp sender in the head, near dizzy. (just a thought)
