Title: 2008 GTI bluetooth?
Post by: Beefy McMoo on 22 September 2007, 17:08
Hello everyone,
I've just picked up my candy white GTI this weekend, however it's already got to go back to the stealers due to the passenger seat belt not regestering that it is connected so you get an alarm beeping the whole time that you have a passenger

However I've been reading the manual and it talks about OEM bluetooth for mobile phones, as long as you have the car kit.  From what I remember the car kit on the 2008 models is a dealer fit option now, but my question is can you have OEM bluetooth, without the fugly cradle??  My Dad has it in his Seat Leon and it works very well and I would love that in my Golf.
Thanks,
Nigel

I considered this when I got my GTI last year. It is a dealer fit option but they would only fit it with the UGLY phone cradle. The choice of phones to fit the VW cradle is also very limited - see link below, page 11:

I've bought a Parrot CK3000 Evolution bluetooth kit to fit in the car after the first service (next week). I've also got a harness to link in with the buttons on the MFSW.
