Righty here it goes, ive been from happy to pissed in about 4miles!
Had some springs fitted today then went to our local Tanvic for lazer allignment and camber etc... left the dealer with a wonky steering wheel which im going back for tomorrow! but my main problem is a grinding noise when steering left to right and a sh!t load of oil on my left alloy! :shocked:
Thinking the worst GEARBOX! but thats fine, the problem is a rip/tear in the left rubber boot that the driveshaft links to the wheel, which has pissed oil allover the wheel. My question finally is can this be ripped/torn through driving over a road hump or bumpy road? or is there a chance the guys at Tanvic have nicked it whilst trying to adjust the wheel? it seams a bit of a coinsidence to me! :angry:

CV boots do funny things. It would be hard to say. But splitting one over a speedbump is unlikely. Unless you were driving like a twit. Even then, unlikely.

Have done it warming up a track rod and caught it with the torch when sezied to adjust tracking, but i put a new cv boot on before customer collected bit sly i no but what they dont no dont hurt and they did not get charged. its very easy to happen, what i would do is to phone them up and ask em if the track rods were tight and look at the boot see if its burnt/ melted rather than ripped or perished. Its not that expensive we charge £30.00 to do the job but still its £30.00

could be the tracking people...but you won't beable to prove it!!
should cost about £6 to buy and you can buy a glue together one's that will make fitting a 10 minute job

Aha success cars been took to tanvic.....Again but theyve accepted it was there fault with heating the driveshaft and f**kin up the boot.
just gotta wait to collect then i can clean it up and get some new pics with her dropped. :cool:

Yeah thought thats what would have happend, I work near shrewsbury we vag spealists and breakers, Having a rolling road bulit this week just finished the ground work. hope to get aload down for a day.

i had this problem with demon tweeks, they sorted it no worries. A few days later it went again, turns out i'd lowered it a bit to much, the bottom arm bolts were catching on the boots!!! whooopsss
