Title: crazy speedo!

Does anyone know why my Mk1 gti cabrio speedo wont read properly, when you drive its a bit 'wavey' and basically shows you doing about 10 miles an hour faster than you actually are until you are doing around 60/70 where it shows around 100/110?!?
I have tried different clocks, new and old speedo cables and the 2 different drives, 15 tooth and 16 tooth and nothing seems to make a difference and its driving me crazy!
Any help is really appreciated! cheers

Check the run of the speedo cable for kinks, try routing it a different way.
