Hey, my new blaupunkt HU arrived yesterday evening...went to fit it straight away, thought it would be a straight forward job...plugged in the brown and black connector boxes to the back of the HU but there was no power and no sign of life whatsoever. It seems that i need an adaptor to fit a blaupunkt HU to my MK3 '97 Golf...can anyone confirm this?
Also during my attempted install ive managed to pull out a wire from the black connector box. For the life of me i cant get it back in. The metal plug is still in the box...its just the bare wire that got yanked out. What have i got to do to get the metal plug out of the box? Is it even possible or am i just being a massive noob?
Cheers in advance
Matt

gettin that pin outta that connector will drive you insain.. unfortuantely they aint meant to come out so you'll have to find a way to hard wire that loose cable back to the loom..i'll double check on this but im pretty sure thats the way it is..
about the power, use a multimeter/dvm to see if when the ignition is on, there is 12v goin the connector in the car..

Yep, drove me totally insane so gave up!!
I bought the blaupunkt adapter from bluespot.co.uk and the headunit is now working fine. The wire i pulled out was in position no.1 in the black connector box. Its not connected to anything now, its just hanging loose but the headunit is working fine...keeping memory etc.
Strange but im not complaining!!
