Trying to fit new rear pads on 1995 gti (ABS) got them all apart lovely jubbly, but could I compress the piston! >:( It said on the instructions with the brake pads (no manual)(Pagid pads) that for rear pads the piston should be turned or take up adjustment on screw ???
I could do nither, couldn't see any adjusting screw could not turn piston? Please can anybody enlighten me or direct me to a site with detailed instructions?
Many thanks in anticipation ;D

You need a piston wind back tool it pushes the piston in at the same time as twisting it should get one at halfords or similar.
-
Thats correct, you can buy the tool from halfords. Make sure that you also disconnect the handbrake cables from the calipers.

I did'nt do that VR6 why do you have too, Is that why i have a lot of pedal travel?
-
If you don't take the cables off, then you can bugger the handbrake mechanism.

Be careful winding it back. Do it slow otherwise you can split the little rubber boot on it!
