Title: 16v rev range help!!

my mk2 16v revs at 3000 to do a steady 60 mile per hour. im sure thats too high it should be around the 2500 mark and to get it up to 70 and above its up to 4000 revs!!!!!

Sounds about right to me. My 8v was a little lower, but not by much. Different gearboxes. I changed my fifth gear sprockets for those from a 4E gearbox. Now I cruise at 70-80 (My speedo is in KMH) at 3200rpm.

i thought my clutch may have a problem but i guess with your feedback its nothing to worry about. what will the 16v do top end? ive not pushed it past 100 on a private road of course!
