Title: alternator light
Post by: sesterfield on 09 September 2007, 22:32
I changed the water pump on my car this weekend, and in doing so removed the alternator.  Now everythings back together I've noticed that the battery light doesn't come on when I start the car anymore.  I have checked the blue wire and it seems ok, I put everything back as it was so am puzzled as to why it's not working anymore!

Any help would be great!

check the blue wire from dash to alternator, usually connected by the battery, thats the charging light, atm yo probably dont have anything being put out, id check the voltages with and without the car running to be sure!

Mk2 16v

The wire seems fine, exactly as I found it!
