all depends on budget!

lots of cash = 195/40/15
medium = 195/45/15
cheap=185/50/15

also width depends on how wide you rims are... 6.5" or 7"

6.5" = 185
7" = 195

how can i find out the 6.5" or 7"? is it just a case of getting a tape measure? and at what points should i measure between?

you could either do a search on the net for make and model, that'll tell you for deffo.. but if you cant find them then im pretty sure you measure the inside dish of the rim.. so you'll have to take a wheel off or something..

well they are bbs RA's, so im guessing either a 5.5" or 6" (according to http://www.vintagewatercooleds.com/tech/Techtips/Timbotechnotes/wheels/wheels.htm)

just having a look on mytyres.co.uk and the only make of tyres they have in the size of 185/45/15 are nankang. are these any good? and it says they are summer tyres, as its coming up to winter, how much will my handing be affected?

if you look at the price tag of the tyres it should give you an idea...think of it this way,your tyres are the only thing between you and the road, so crap tyres means, less handling, worse braking, etc..never heard of nankang so i duno sorry

nankang are chocolate tyres. they're useless in the wet, u might aswell drive on ice.

I still haven't lokked at the width of my RA's but the 195/50/15's i'm running are Goodyear Eagle F1's. On my second set now and have no complaints, stick to the road well in both wet and dry, and they are only about £34 each - bargain.
