Hi All,
Have been reading the forums and stuff for help and info for the last couple of months as I bought myself a very original 1985 1.3C Golf 3 door. The car was a stereotypical 1 lady owner, garaged from new etc and had done 52k miles. It needed some tidying but was in such original unmolested condition that I coudn't resist.
The car needed a full service etc and I replaced the rear section of the exhaust but after that it sailed through it's mot. Since then I've had some paintwork done to catch any small bits of surface rust and bought a set of steel wheels and a full set of tyres. When the car was getting painted I had it all undersealed as well. So have spent a few quid...but managed to pick up the car for £350 with six months tax and a couple of months mot so all in all it's been good project and would hope to get my money back if/when I decided to sell the car.
I'm not sure how to attach pics to show you all the car as it is too date but you can check out the link below to see it from the early stages of working on it. It's a post from a mate who's a car detailer and who gave me a hand to clean and polish the car when I first got it. It still has the original 13" steeel wheels on in these pics.
Hope you find the pics interesting and once I suss out how to attach pics to my post I'll show you how the cars looking now.
