hello bud i am on coilovers and my front is 90mm rear is 80mm its on tsw stealths at mo.they dont touch arches. But the rear axle beam is close to exhaust. if new rubbers are on and not saggy old ones this will not be problem. you will have to adjust the brake load valve on rear axle as rear wheels locking up at high speeds is not funnyhttp://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=27064.0 (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=27064.0) hope this helps paul

width/offset/tyre size are important when it comes to scrubbing!

I'm lowered on 20mm eibachs and run 15*7 ATS Cups with 195/50 tyres and get arch contact with weight in the back over bumps.

they are deffo 20mm eibachs!

I bought and fitted them! they are 20mm lower than a std 16v.

so it is a 50mm drop over a srd carb model iirc!

get coilovers, angle grinder, some wide ass 15s and have a good old play..

arch grinding is a piece of piss, and potentially saves your tyres if you have to give to 4 'large' mates a lift!!

Must admit - I didn;t enoy grinding my arches, takes ages, sparks in your face etc....

Get them rolled - is far a neater finish too!

If you aint rubbin you aint dubbin!!!!!! Not that i can talk I have -40 weitec springs and shocks but as the gti is lower already they didnt make that much difference!!!! as the old springs werw shaged on the rear  and the front sat high!!!! I had to fit the lowering spring caps from venom to balence it out!!!! now it sits to high at the back!!! why didnt i buy coil overs!
