Title: Hello another newbie
Post by: Scoobster on 31 August 2007, 17:18
Hello, I'm a newbie to the forum and to VW's but with a little bit of luck i will be selling my current car this weekend and the search will start for a Mk4 Golf not sure which model yet, need something thats not too slow and will still be fun to drive (will be coming from a quick 4WD car) and be a 5 door (family to think about now) my ideal model would be an R32 but my budget won't quite go that far so either a 4motion or an 18T and spend a bit on performance mods to make it a little quicker

Anyway just thought i would say hello before i start posting and asking for help lol

Welcome to the forum!

any chance you used to drive a Scooby?

Anyway i'd got for the 1.8 20vT and get it remapped  although the v5/v6's do like fun. Though i guess they're less tunable.

I did have a Scooby a few years ago and the forum name kind of stuck with me but always had Jap performance cars until now well until the weekend i hope when i sell my Skyline and the Golf hunt can start

As i said before i would love an R32 but not got that kind of cash to spend so i thought the 4motion would be the next best thing
I have been looking around and it does look like the 20v turbo has a lot more tuning parts available but what kind of money would i need to spend to get the performance up to the 4motion level would a re-map get it performing as well as a stock V6
