I've got some bits of rust on my driver's door. It's basically underneath the plastic trim, so fairly well hidden, but of course I want rid of it! I'm planning to take the trim off, use a wire brush on a drill or something to (carefully!) take off the nasty bubbled bits, sand down a load, prime and paint again. I need some paint that matches mine, so do I have any options apart from the VW dealers? I guess any old metal paint primer will do for the primer, but am I stuck with having to get a can from VW? and how much do they charge for a rattlecan anyhoo?
I bought a pot of touch-up a while ago, but can't remember how much it was now...
then I just have to figure out how to deal with the bottom corner of the driver's door that's basically completely rusted through..
