Title: mk4 cabby dash bits in mk3!?

mk4 cabby dash is the same as mk3 but has a much nicer leather airbag wheel and all that lovely mk4 illumination.

Anyone done this?

i fancy changing dials and airbag steering wheel plus any other switches with cooler illumination than the green i have.

well it depends whichs bits really.. find out n come back :)

always a good idea to find out how much things are gonna cost before u set ya heart on em.. cheaper that way :)

You've read my mind. I'm looking for a way to get the lovely blue light of a Mk4 into my mk3. I don't care about the Airbag wheel, I just want the blue light!! Is it just a swap over job?

for blue, i think you can replace the bulbs.. sure i've seen something on doing it

hmmm yeah, someone did post a link about the whole process of changing to blue lights quite a while ago. Worth doing a search for it. I think it had step by step photos too.

That 'Dizzie' chap has just done it, so ask him too  :)

Your best bet is to fit blue led's that have the same osram style twist fit base as the original bulbs.

You have to remove the green filters in the dash though

to change the mk3's switches to light up blue or red you need to remove the green 3mm led and solder in the new one. that's all.

I read somewhere you can only change the 1 part of the headlight switch as the rest is green plastic. you could probably get it lighting up a weird greeny blue though.

I'll let you know when I've got another to crack open.
